Targeting innate lymphoid cells to reinvigorate anti-tumor immunity
Our research focuses on investigating the role of innate lymphoid cells (ILCs) and tumor-specific CD4 T cells in anti-tumor immunity, in order to optimize current strategies in immunotherapy.
By studying both patient samples and relevant tumor mouse models, we are able to explore how cytokine secreting lymphocytes interact with tumor and stromal cells to modulate the tumor microenvironment. Using transcriptomic, epigenetic and phenotypic techniques down to the single cell level, we can assess quantitative and qualitative alterations in cytokine secreting lymphocytes in cancer patients, pre- and post-treatment. Targeting pathways in vitro and in vivo in these cells, allows exploration of therapeutic options and potential manipulation of these cells for therapy.
