2nd iGE3 PhD Salary Awards - The final selection

We are proud to announce and congratulate the winners of the iGE3 PhD salary awards 2014 !

At the end of this 2nd round of selection, 4 PhD awards could be given to graduate students working in the laboratories of iGE3 faculty members for the quality of their application.

The winners are:

The awardees have presented their project during the 3rd iGE3 Annual Meeting on Thursday, November 13, 2014, at the Louis-Jeantet Foundation in Geneva.

2nd iGE3 PhD Salary Awards

For graduate students working in the laboratories of iGE3 faculty members

We are happy to announce the 2nd round of the iGE3 PhD Salary Awards. Similar to last year, these stipends will be given competitively to graduate students working in the laboratories of iGE3 members, for projects with a strong genetics or genomics component.

The graduate students have to be in the 2nd or 3rd year of their studies, and the salary awards will be provided for 2 years, non-renewable. The final selection will be made by an external (non-UNIGE) advisory board. The stipends should be acknowledged in publications as iGE3 PhD Student Awards.

Please note:

  • up to 4 PhD awards could be given in this 2nd round of the doctoral training support;
  • one application per laboratory will be accepted per call;
  • the final selection will be made by by Sunday, October 19, 2014;
  • the successful applicants will present their project at the 3rd iGE3 Annual Meeting on Thursday, November 13, 2014;
  • the contracts will start on Monday, December 1, 2014.

1st iGE3 PhD Salary Awards

For graduate students working in the laboratories of iGE3 faculty members

The iGE3 (Institute of Genetics and Genomics of Geneva) with the generous help of the Rector’s office and the encouragement of the Deans of the Faculties of Medicine and Sciences is proud to announce the iGE3 graduate students salary awards.

These stipends will be given competitively to graduate students working in the laboratories of iGE3 faculty members, for projects with a strong genetics or genomics component. The graduate students should be in the 2nd or 3rd year of their studies, and these salaries will be provided for 2 years, non-renewable. The amount will be set according to the current regulations of the University of Geneva. The final selection will be made by an external (non-UNIGE) advisory board. The stipends should be acknowledged as iGE3 graduate student awards.

Please note:

  • up to 6 PhD awards could be given in the first phase of this doctoral training support;
  • no more than one application per laboratory will be accepted per call;
  • the 5 members of the Executive Board will not compete for the salary awards in this first call.
