6th iGE3 PhD Salary Awards

For graduate students working in the laboratories of iGE3 faculty members.

We are happy to announce the 6th round of the iGE3 PhD Salary Awards. Similar to the past five years, these stipends will be given competitively to graduate students working in the laboratories of iGE3 members, for projects with a strong genetics or genomics component.

The graduate students have to be in the 2nd or 3rd year of their studies, and the salary awards will be provided for 2 years, non-renewable. The final selection will be made by an external (non-UNIGE) advisory board. The stipends should be acknowledged in publications as iGE3 PhD Student Awards.

Please note:

  • up to 4 PhD awards should be given in this 6th round of the doctoral training support;
  • one application per laboratory will be accepted per call;
  • students from laboratories with awardees from 2017 are not eligible, i.e. lab of Dr Currat, Profs Gotta, Herrera, Martinou, Ulm and Zdobnov;
  • the announcement of the final selection will be made by Monday, October 15, 2018;
  • the successful applicants will present their project at the 7th iGE3 Annual Meeting on Tuesday, November 13, 2018;
  • the contracts will start on Saturday, December 1, 2018.

La Nuit de la science

« Tout un art ? »

Pour sa 12e édition, la Nuit de la science a décidé de mettre son nez dans les cuisines de la recherche. Comment se fait-elle ? Comment ça marche ? Qui sont ces curieux personnages capables de comprendre l’univers, la matière ou le cerveau et de produire des belles molécules, d’élégantes formules mathématiques et de nouvelles images ?

Les stands de science vous attendent pour dialoguer, échanger ou questionner directement les scientifiques et les passionnés de science. Des visites théâtrales, des présentations artistiques, du son, des images vous proposent de visiter autrement la manifestation, qui se tiendra les samedi 7 et dimanche 8 juillet 2018 au Parc de la Perle du Lac et au Campus Biotech à Genève.

La Nuit de la science est une manifestation du Département de la culture et du sport de la Ville de Genève, organisée par le Musée d’histoire des sciences.

Le cerveau en construction

La Semaine internationale du Cerveau se déroule chaque année dans plusieurs villes de Suisse. A Genève, cet événement est organisé par le Centre Interfacultaire de Neurosciences. Le développement en est le thème en 2018.

Des conférences pour le grand public sont proposées chaque soir de la semaine du lundi 12 au vendredi 16 mars 2018, à 19 h 00 à Uni Dufour, Auditoire Piaget.
